Peter Alexander has been inducted into the Stonnington Fashion Hall of Fame.
Hosted by journalist Janice Breen Burns, the invitation-only event featured two new inductees, including Alexander and late fashion icon Mary Lipshut.
Peter Alexander's namesake brand is owned by Solomon Lew's Premier Investments.
City of Stonnington Mayor Cr Melina Sehr praised the sleepwear designer for his impact on the sector.
"We are thrilled to have renowned sleepwear designer, Peter Alexander as this year's Hall of Fame inductee and acknowledge his significant contribution to the industry," Cr Sehr said.
"We are also honoured to have the son of the late fashion doyenne, Mary Lipshut, receive this year's award on her behalf."
The City of Stonnington embodies key shopping destinations, including Chapel Street, Hawksburn, High Street, Toorak Road and Chadstone Shopping Centre.
The Stonnington Fashion Hall of Fame is a well-respected award, attributed to prominent figures in the Australian fashion industry. Past inductees include Peter Jago, Lillian Frank, Lisa Baron, David Medwin and many more.
