International footwear retailer JD Sports is set to launch over 40 products as part of the opening of its first Australian store in Melbourne Central.
Over the launch phase JD Sports will release up to 169 products; 79 footwear and 91 apparel.
The first 540sqm flagship store will offer a range of leading global brands including Nike, Adidas, Lacoste, Reebok , Ellesse, The North Face and Puma.
JD Australia head Hilton Seskin said the company was excited to be entering the Australian market and being able to offer both exclusive and global product to men, women and children.
"We are excited to debut the first flagship retail store with over 40 launch products including JD exclusives and globally sold out styles across both men’s and women’s categories.”
Seskin also said the company's current expansion plan, while in line with the current retail climate, will allow for JD Sports to open in key locations throughout New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
The store launches April 27 and marks the eleventh country outside the UK for the company to have a presence in.
