Homie has made a double statement today: announcing its ethical accreditation and a new sustainability drive.

The brand is the latest to become accredited under Ethical Clothing Australia.

It has also announced the launch of its new 'Care Tees' campaign, aimed at creating a conversation around fast fashion.

Co-founder Marcus Crook said it aims to encourage shoppers to make considered choices.

"At HoMie we pride ourselves on responsible and ethical practices, our garments now made in Melbourne are made with quality, care and made to last.

"Our 'Take Care' tee as designed to get the most use out of this garment to avoid mass consumption and increased landfill."

"ABC's War on Waste quoted that ‘ in Australia 6000 kg of clothing is dumped in landfill every 10 minutes’.

"HoMie, amongst their own social impact endeavours are now standing and fighting in the war on waste.

"It takes 3,000 litres of water to make a single t shirt and in Australia we are the second biggest consumers of textiles.

The 'Care Tee' tee will drop in stores and online, in a limited run, on September 19.
