Long-established fashion trade shows, International Sourcing Expo Australia and the Footwear and Leather Show, are set to become more visible on a global scale after organisers, the International Exhibition and Conference Group (IEC Group), launched a new platform to unify its portfolio.

The new platform, Global Sourcing Shows Australia, brings all of the shows under one banner, with the move expected to have greater breadth and reach into international markets, making the Australian shows a hub for international trade.

IEC Group CEO Marie Kinsella said that under the new banner, the organisation plans to expand into other sectors to launch new shows.

"Huge opportunities exist in Australia for organisations from overseas to do business here.

"As a wealthy nation and one that is known as a really good place to do business, Australia presents an attractive value proposition for manufacturers and suppliers.

"Starting with established shows, Global Sourcing Shows Australia provides a trusted platform for international businesses when they are looking to grow their market in Australia and New Zealand.

"Over time, we will explore opportunities in other sectors for new shows. There is enormous potential for Global Sourcing Shows to utilise our knowledge and experience in connecting suppliers with markets in Australasia across other sectors.

"In the short term, we are focused on building success in our existing portfolio of long-established shows and launching Global Home + Lifestyle," she said.

The first show to run under the new banner will be the International Sourcing Expo Australia and co-located Footwear and  Leather Show in Melbourne in November.
