H&M has unveiled its new expansion plans for 2018 with the announcement of an agreement to open a new store on the Gold Coast.

The store, which will open at the Robina town centre in the second half of 2018 will add to the brand's current portfolio of 29 stores across Australia.

The company also reiterated its commitment to open its first store in South Australia with the announcement of its plan to open a new store in Adelaide at the Rundle mall plaza in the near future.

In its statement, H&M said that more information on the Gold Coast store would be provided at a later date, prior to the opening of the new store.

The expansion news represents H&M's first move to open new store locations in 2018 after the brand did not open any new stores in Q1 2018.

As part of its Q1 report, the brand stated that it had not opened any new stores after a 12% decrease in sales for the quarter following a weak Q4 2017 which forced substantial clearance sales.
