French fashion brand The Kooples will launch its debut Australian store in Melbourne's St Collins Lane precinct this month.

The launch will be followed by an opening in Chadstone Shopping Centre later this year.

The 116sqm St Collins Lane store has been designed by The Kooples' architects and with key features including black marquina marble, stainless steel mirror, high quality lighting and aerial custom made furniture.

Its apparel offering spans across menswear and womenswear and aims to offer modern silhouettes with fitted cuts and tailoring.

The brand was founded in 2008 by brothers Alexandre, Laurent and Raphael Elicha.

Since then it has secured 110 standalone stores and around 350 points of sale across Europe and the US.

In 2012 it also made its foray into activewear with the launch of The Kooples SPORT which will be available at its Australian stores.

The Kooples will launch a localised ecommerce business at the end of 2016.
