Forever New has seen a 21% increase in average order values with a new image recognition intiative.

Using data on browsing behaviour, the brand has been able to process product image data to automatically recommend visually similar products to shoppers.

Shoppers who engaged with the site's ‘You May Also Like’ (visually similar) call-to-action generated up to a 135% increase in conversion.

Furthermore, when shoppers were shown visually similar items, the brand tracked a 21% increase in average order value, with full price items more likely to be selected over sale items.

Forever New MD Carolyn Mackenzie said it has transformed how the retailer approaches its search and product recommendation functions.

"In looking at the purchasing behaviour of our customers, we discovered they were often buying similar styles from the same category.

"Based on this, we sought to provide a more seamless online journey for our customers."

The technology automatically recommends similar products; where patterns, style, colour, or silhouette.
