Alex Perry, Ginger & Smart and Aurelio Costarella are some of the names Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia organisers have revealed ahead of an official schedule release next month.

The event will take place at new venue Carriageworks in Sydney, co-locating with upmarket trade fair Premiere.

Organiser IMG Fashion has offered a taster of the April showcase, also revealing Lisa Ho, Manning Cartell, Camilla, Alice McCall, We Are Handsome, Romance Was Born, Michael Lo Sordo, Jayson Brunsdon and Bec & Bridge as among brands showcasing.

The new event space will house three showrooms, with traditional runway arenas working alongside multi-purpose venues The Box and The Theatre.

A purpose built on-site photo studio will launch this year, allowing designers to shoot new season look books following their show.

Designers and brands will also be able to utilise a new seminar space to screen original film and video content throughout the week.

The space will double as a conference room for business to be conducted on-site.

The tie-up with Premiere will mean spring/summer wholesale collections can be sold directly to registered buyers of both events.

IMG global production director Jarrad Clark said the new additions are a direct result of a relocation to Carriageworks.

“By pioneering original digital innovations, and building on the success of previous seasons, we continue to provide an internationally recognized platform for Australian designers, ensuring increased exposure to a worldwide audience.”

The SS13/14 event will run from April 8 to 12.
