Fashion blogger Julia Browne from Style Shifter is growing her brand from Instagram to website hub to champion independent Australian fashion designers and emerging student fashion talent.

The new site includes fashion hacks, tricks and tips, community news, an international fashion calendar, and the student runways shows in Melbourne.

Browne said the site is aimed at independent creatives.

“I love fashion, and I’m always on the lookout for unique and innovative clothing that you cannot find on the high street. When I couldn’t find a comprehensive directory online, I realised there was a gap in the market, and thought, why don’t I create one.”

The addition of the Student Runway calendar cme during a conversation with a teacher at a Kangan Institute Fashion Show.

“After discovering there wasn’t one place to access all the information on upcoming Melbourne shows, I decided to add the events calendar to the website,” Browne said.

“The student community is such an exciting space for innovative fashion with absolutely no limitations. You really get that ‘saw it here first’ moment at a student fashion show. I know there a lot of industry people, and fashion lovers alike, who miss out on these opportunities because they don’t have access to event details.”

There are more than 30 independent Australian fashion designers from millinery to accessories listed on the site, with new designers been added regularly.
