Designer womenswear label Ellery has put an offer on the market.
Designer Kym Ellery has confirmed that her second line L’America is up for sale.
Launched in 2012, the brand is stocked in David Jones, Surfstitch, The Iconic and 80 independent boutiques nationally.
L'America is also stocked internationally by ShopBop and Urban Outfitters in the US, as well as Beams in Japan.
Ellery general manager Chris Buchanan confirmed the sale when contacted by ragtrader.com.au.
“The decision to close a successful business may be unusual. However when considering Ellery’s exponential international growth, it made commercial sense to focus on the main line which now generates more income internationally than domestically."
According to Buchanan, Ellery is talking to a number of parties but open to additional expressions of interest.
“We are currently delivering our Winter injection which has been well received by customers. Whilst it will be the last collection of L’America produced by Ellery, we are confident it won’t be the last.”
