The fashion industry's finest gathered at The Intersection in Paddington earlier this week to celebrate the official opening of the Australian Walk of Style.
The initiative, created by property developer Theo Onisforou, saw five of the country’s most prolific designers immortalised in brass plaques along Oxford Street and dubbed the Australian Walk of Style.
Guests for the high profile event on Oxford Street included Australian Fashion Week founder and 2010 fashion laureate Simon Lock , designer Akira Isogawa, journalist and TV presenter Magdalena Roze, Zimmerman sisters Nicky and Simone, Sass & Bide’s Sarah-Jane Clarke, and Ksubi’s Dan Single.
Ginger & Smart designer Alexandra Smart, model Nikki Phillips, pro skater Corbin Harris, designer Rachel Gilbert, TV presenter Tom Williams, star stylist Josh Flynn, and R.M. Williams executive designer Jonathan Ward also attended.
Guests were treated to alfresco cocktails courtesy of Absolut Vodka, Rose wine, canapés, and Santa Vittoria water, with background beats provided by DJ Charlie Chux from a balcony overlooking the red carpet laid out for the event.
A further two designers will be immortalised in plaques each year along the Australian Walk of Style in biannual celebrations with a total of 11 plaques planned over the next five years.
