eBay has completed the rollout of eBay Guaranteed Delivery, following Amazon's ongoing bid to speed up the Australian dispatch market.

eBay Australia will now guarantee the delivery of millions of eligible items on site, with the ability for shoppers to search for and filter items by delivery speed.

The online marketplace now vows that more than 39% of eBay Guaranteed Delivery items will be delivered within one day.

Meanwhile, more than 71% of eBay Guaranteed Delivery items will be delivered within two days, while more than 89% of eBay Guaranteed Delivery items will be delivered within three days.

Amazon recently gave its local sellers access to Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA).

FBA is a logistics service pitched at reaching customers across the market "quickly and efficiently."

Businesses send products to Amazon’s fulfilment centre and when a customer places an order, Amazon will pick, pack and ship the product on their behalf.

FBA Australia head Amit Mahto said businesses of all sizes, including individuals selling out of their homes, could access the service.

“Size doesn’t matter in the digital economy and Amazon Marketplace helps to level the playing field when it comes to starting or growing a business.

"We are focused on helping Australian businesses of all sizes succeed by inventing on their behalf and making our technology available to them and FBA is a fantastic example of this.

"Customers shopping on amazon.com.au will be able to access an ever growing and more unique range of products accompanied by the convenience of fast delivery and Amazon’s world-class customer service.”
