A major textiles takeover is set to revitalise the sector.

Eclipse Textiles, established in 1987, has been acquired by Charles Parsons & Co.

Commenting on the tie-up, Charles Parsons said the move reiterates the company's “continued commitment to the supply of wholesale fabric to the local market”.

“This acquisition brings exciting opportunities whereby both Charles Parsons and Eclipse can leverage their experience and customer base to strengthen and grow their respective businesses.”

Eclipse Textiles is well known in the trade for high quality stretch Lycra® fabrics, product diversity and innovation and extensive stocked product ranges.

To date, the company has supplied its extensive range of fabrics to a broad range of customers across the swimwear, active sports, fashion, dancewear and intimate apparel industries.

Charles Parsons is a privately owned family business established in 1915. The Charles Parsons Group comprises a number of diverse businesses operating throughout Australia and New Zealand, and also services markets in Europe, Asia and North America.

Charles Parsons provides garment manufacturers with the trims and accessories necessary for all aspects of garment construction, but also designs and manufactures fashion garments for a number of Australasian vertical retailers.
