Celebrated designer Dion Lee has evolved again.

The designer, well-known for his innovative womenswear, has released a limited edition line of smart phone and tablet covers, as part of a collaboration with Move.

The first Melbourne Move store, backed by electronics retailer Dick Smith, officially launched in the Emporium building in Lonsdale Street last week.

The concept aims to bring together fashion-inspired accessories, computers and mobile devices under one roof, for consumers “who want their technology with a twist of individuality and style”.

The Dion Lee for Move limited edition collection includes smart phone and tablet covers, designed in soft lambs leather, coated Zircon Linen and screen-printed neoprene.

The cases form part of Lee’s latest collection, showcased at this month’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and were co-developed with the Move store team to be sold exclusively at Move.

Commenting on the tie-up, Lee said the collaboration is another stage in his evolution as a designer.

“Being able to combine technology and fashion in a way that remains stylish and functional is something I’ve always wanted to achieve. My collaboration with Move has enabled me to test out ways of doing this and has resulted in products that I’m really proud to include as part of my latest collection,” he said.

Going forward, Move said consumers can expect further designer collaborations and ongoing showcases of curated products and exclusive ranges that will not be available online.

In addition to its flagship Move Emporium and Move Bondi Junction store, the brand also plans to open a Move Highpoint store in April and Move Indooroopilly store in May.
