Cotton On pays out employee

Cotton On has paid out close to $250,000 to a former employee.

Erin Jade Talty was awarded $235, 668 in damages in a judgement before the Brisbane District Court last week.

Talty was granted the judgement after sustaining a traumatic head injury in a workplace accident at a Cotton On warehouse.

She was struck by a heavy pallet while working for the retailer in April 2012.

While Cotton On admitted liability and negligence, it had disputed the nature and extent of the injuries.

However, the judge ruled the permanent brain injury was significant and constituted an "eight per cent whole person impairment."
