Catch.com.au has announced it is continuing to engage with the ACCC and other regulators in Australia to both raise and maintain product safety awareness among its marketplace sellers.

The announcement has been made in line with the launch of OECD's International Product Safety Week.

The online retailer launched its marketplace in June 2017.

It has since sought to educate its 1,000 plus third party sellers in Australian product safety requirements through a variety of programs including the distribution of product safety compliance guides and conducting product safety audits.

Catch Group's CEO Nati Harpaz said that consumer safety is the greatest priority.

“There's no greater priority for us than ensuring the safety of the products we sell and the satisfaction of our customers.

“With the growth in online shopping and more and more Australian consumers accessing international websites, product safety has become an issue of growing concern.

“At the Catch Group product safety is a key focus of ours and we welcome an initiative that increases awareness of consumer safety issues.

“We take our obligations seriously and we will always maintain our commitment to do everything we can to ensure the products sold on our platform not only offer great value but are safe.”
