Private equity investor Alceon Group is on the acquisition trail.

Together with Oaktree Capital Management, it has acquired Marlin Brands which houses homeware labels Decor and Willow.

Alceon Group has been on a buy-up of Australian and New Zealand brands, including Noni B, Surfstitch and EziBuy.

Oaktree has also had acquisition activity in the market, including surfwear giant Billabong.

Marlin Brands serves more than 18,000 retailers throughout Australia and New Zealand, with over $260 million of revenue generated annually.

It operates in the homeware, kitchenware, giftware and petrol and convenience channels.

Oaktree and Alceon are set to accelerate growth via digital and direct-to-customer reach, logistics, warehousing and supply chain management.

The plan also includes extending Décor’s international operations, particularly increasing its penetration into the U.S. market.
