The largest online store for Australian-made fashion has shut up shop.

The Dress Collective, founded in 2015 by Claire Goldsworthy, has carried 45 Australian designer brands since launch.

In a statement on its site, Goldsworthy notified consumers of the move.

"We have decided to close The Dress Collective. It's been one hell of a journey!

"From small beginnings to national awards, we've grown with our following as the largest online store for Australian made fashion.

"Although we're closing The Dress Collective, we're not disappearing altogether!

"If you love Australian labels and you'd like to keep supporting ethical fashion, you can now find all of our amazing local labels at The Fashion Advocate - the new home of Australian fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands."

Based in Melbourne, The Dress Collective is the largest online store that sells only 100% Australian made fashion.

In a bid to be transparent about the garment lifecycle, which each designer's story is attached to every single garment sold.

The eCommerce vendor aimed to promote slow fashion, sustainability and ethical production.
