A brand founded by Australian fashion legend Maggie Tabberer is in troubled waters.

The Maggie T fashion chain, founded by Tabberer in 1985, has appointed administrators.

Launched to cater for plus-size female customers, the brand operates 26 stores nationally.

A creditors’ meeting to decide the future of Maggie T is scheduled for next Monday.

Tabberer first launched the Maggie T brand with business partner Carl Dowd.

The business is currently helmed by the Dolina Brothers Izhar and Nitzan Ronen, who purchased the business in 2003.

DW Advisory has been appointed to oversee the administration.
