Kathmandu has opened its 150th store at Traralgon, Victoria.

Kathmandu rolled out its first Australian store in 1987, at Melbourne’s Hardware Lane.

The outdoor and adventure brand opened its first New Zealand store in Christchurch in 1991.

The company has undergone a brand refresh, expanded its product range, added more than 70 stores and grown its staff count to more than 2000 over the past five years.

It opened 15 new stores in Australia and New Zealand last financial year.

The retailer is aiming for around 180 stores across Australia and New Zealand.

Traralgon adds to its regional network in areas such as Coffs Harbour, Bunbury, and Rockhampton.

Some five per cent of sales are transacted online and the company ships to more than 40 countries.

Kathmandu’s loyalty program, Summit Club, has more than one million members in Australia.

In New Zealand, almost one in 10 residents are members of the loyalty program.

Kathmandu first listed on the Australian and New Zealand stock exchanges in 2009.
